Regional Accounting Service Manager

About the Role

Are you an experienced finance leader ready to drive our accounting operations across a dynamic international region? Kärcher is seeking a Regional Accounting Service Manager to play a pivotal leadership role in driving our Northern Europe accounting functions.


In this role, you will hold ultimate ownership over local accounting operations, tax compliance, and statutory reporting. Acting as an experienced leader and driving performance in accounting operations , you will collaborate closely with our Global Shared Service Center (KGS) and direct a regional team spanning General Ledger (GL), Order-to-Cash (OTC), and Purchase-to-Pay (P2P) streams. 


Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee daily accounting functions, including month- and year-end closing processes, cash management, payroll, and  expenses.
  • Manage, mentor, and develop a robust regional team, directly overseeing the Regional OTC Manager, Regional Procurement & P2P Manager, and dedicated GL specialists.
  • Secure the accurate and timely computation of tax returns (VAT, corporate tax) and ensure financial reporting aligns with local laws and Group Accounting Practice (HBII).
  • Drive the preparation, coordination, and completion of annual financial closings and half-yearly reporting to ensure complete audit readiness.
  • Act as the secondary operational contact between the local team and the Global Shared Service Center (KGS), managing process transfers, monitoring execution, and handling escalations.
  • Drive continuous system improvements, standardizing workflows and integrating business-approved AI tools to advance team efficiency.
  • Optimize working capital metrics (including DSO, DPO, and bad debt mitigation), and enhance financial master data quality

 

The ideal candidate for the Regional Accounting Service Manager position brings a strong academic and professional foundation, starting with an BSc degree in Accounting, Finance, or an equivalent relevant field, while an MBA or CPA qualification is highly desirable. Professionally, the role requires a minimum of 5 years of progressive experience in an accounting or finance role. However, the preferred background spans between 5 to 15 years of total experience, which crucially includes at least 2 years of proven experience managing a team or a specific finance function - making prior background as an Accounting Manager highly advantageous.


From a technical and language standpoint, the successful candidate must possess a professional level of English to effectively manage cross-border operations. To truly stand out and excel in this regional setup, fluency in one or more Nordic languages is considered a strong asset to support the team's localized compliance and regional footprint.
