Key Account Manager - Retail (m/f/d)

We are looking for a Key Account Manager for our subsidiary in Toronto Canada.The main function of this role will be to develop and service existing retail accounts in the Ontario marketplace with a major focus on new retail account acquisition.  In addition to account development work, contract compliance, sales growth, pricing and margin maintenance.  This position will be the liaison between customers and the internal departments and divisions within Kärcher Canada.

 

Your Tasks

  • Develop and implement strategic business plans to meet sales revenue and profit targets
  • Build relations with current retailers as well as prospect for new retail opportunities
  • Facilitate customer business reviews
  • Know how to sell, operate, and identify equipment and know which piece of equipment to recommend for use in different situations.
  • Teach the benefits and features of our product line versus the competition
  • Become very knowledgeable with all marketing materials and programs in order to assist assigned accounts with national and local marketing of products
  • Develop a customer service oriented relationship with all customers serviced in assigned area
  • Conduct product training to assigned accounts
  • Review and enforce sales policies as it relates to channels, territories, pricing and promotion.  Document and communicate any actions that are contrary
  • Assist the Credit Department with customer account payable issues as required
  • Participate in trade shows, annual sales meetings and other marketing events
  • Keep technically up-to-date about the line of pressure washers and select floor care products.

 

Your Qualifications

  • Possess a university degree or college diploma or extensive experience in home and garden or the floor care industry
  • 3+ years’ of proven successful experience selling to and supporting retail accounts
  • Must have a mechanical aptitude and enjoy working hands-on with equipment
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to relay information in a timely manner
  • Exceptional presentation skills
  • Strong attention to detail, extremely organized, and has strong ‘follow-up’ skills
  • An analytical problem solver that works well under time pressure
  • Strong MS office skills and experience with a CRM system
  • Self-motivated and entrepreneurial
  • Willing and able travel up to 50% of the time
  • Able to move equipment that weighs up to 100 lbs
