For our growing and successfully operating sales and service subsidiary (turnover of approx. 150 Mio. EUR and more than 300 employees) based in Krakow (Poland), we are currently hiring a

 

Service Director (m/f/d)

 

This is how you WOW:

  • Being part of the management team and directly reporting to the Managing Director, you will play a key role in shaping and executing the company's service strategy and driving sustainable business growth. 

  • Taking full responsibility for the service organization’s financial performance, including revenue, profitability, budgeting, cost control and operational efficiency across all service activities.

  • Leading a nationwide service organization operating across multiple locations, ensuring excellent customer service, operational excellence and consistent execution of company standards.

  • Driving service business growth through the development of service offerings, maintenance contracts and recurring revenue streams, while partnering closely with the Sales organization to support strategic customers.

  • Monitoring and improving key business indicators such as service revenue, operational margin, technician productivity, utilization rates, SLA performance, customer satisfaction and workforce engagement.

  • Optimizing service processes, resource allocation and spare parts management to maximize efficiency, quality and profitability.

  • Building a high-performance culture focused on accountability, customer centricity, continuous improvement and operational excellence.

  • Leading and developing a team of Service Managers and support functions, providing clear direction, coaching and leadership across the organization.

  • Ensuring compliance with company procedures, manufacturer standards, health & safety regulations and quality requirements.

  • As Director you provide a vision to a team of 78 people in total and manage 7 direct reports; guiding with empathy as well as strong leadership skills. 

  • The role is based in Kraków and involves regular travel across Poland (approximately 30% of working time) as well as occasional international travel within the Eastern Europe region.

 


It would be WOW if you would bring this in:

  • A business degree or equivalent education (economics, engineering)

  • At least 10 years of experience within service organizations and a minimum of 5 years in a senior service leadership role with full responsibility for operational and financial performance.

  • Experience in technical, industrial, automotive, machinery, equipment or related sectors is required. 

  • Proven track record in managing large, geographically dispersed service teams and multi-site operations.

  • Strong experience in service business management, including P&L responsibility, budgeting, profitability improvement and KPI-driven decision making.

  • Excellent understanding of service processes, field service operations, resource planning, SLA management and customer service excellence.

  • Strong commercial mindset with the ability to identify growth opportunities, develop service business and increase recurring revenues.

  • Demonstrated success in process optimization, organizational development and leading change initiatives.

  • A hands-on leadership approach combined with strong communication, negotiation and stakeholder management skills.

  • Experience working with CRM systems and modern business applications.

  • Understanding the key drivers of a dynamic market, with Customer Centricity: commercially aware, understanding and anticipating the trends and the needs of both operations and management.

  • A coaching leadership style marked by empathy and strong communication skills, geared towards top team performance. 

  • Strong command of Polish and English (written and orally).
