Supervisor, Warehouse Quality and Safety - Fayetteville, AR

 

purpose

Maintain quality compliance and direct activities of warehouse quality staff. Provide leadership and oversee compliance of company safety requirements for all warehouse staff.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Quality Duties:
  • Direct and support the daily operational activities of Quality staff; including doing inspections and audits as needed to support in times of high volume/demand (~30%)
  • Monitor and respond to customer complaints as assigned
  • Perform, facilitate and/or direct investigation, root cause and CAPA
  • Write work instructions and inspection criteria
  • Write rework instructions for nonconforming or damaged materials and components
  • Safety Duties:
  • Safety policy and procedure deployment and day to day management
  • Perform safety incident investigations and reporting
  • Perform job hazard assessments using provided templates/tools
  • Facilitate and lead exercises and projects as directed
  • Communicate and coach safety requirements and results
  • Perform relevant safety training as instructed
  • Operational compliance to DOT hazmat requirements
  • Maintain First Aid / CPR / AED certification
  • Assist with Environmental and ISO compliance

 

Supervision Received

Reports to Distribution Center Warehouse Director with dotted line reporting to Quality Director.  Assisted in Safety duties by KNA Safety Coordinator.

 

Supervision Exercised

Carries out supervisory responsibilities over subordinate staff in accordance with company policies and applicable laws.  Responsibilities include training employees; planning, assigning and directing work; appraising performance; recommending the hiring, rewarding and disciplining of employees; and addressing complaints and resolving problems.

 

 

 

 

 

 

QUALIFICATIONS

Education and Experience

Degree in a related field from an accredited college or technical school preferred, and / or combination of education and at least 3 years experience in warehouse/logistics with Quality focus.

OSHA 30 general industry training completed, or willingness to take classes to obtain OSHA 30 general industry card required.

Ability to drive a forklift/operate a man lift and train others not required but is a plus.

Warehouse/other management software knowledge (SAP, EWM, ERP, ADP, etc.) a plus but not required.

 

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Ability and willingness to teach others on all skills stated below
  • Quality Requirements:
  • Demonstrate accuracy and thoroughness 
  • Interpret and understand part drawings, prints, and specifications
  • Demonstrated ability to use Microsoft Office tools Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Word
  • Ability to perform Root Cause, Cause and Effect (fishbone and 5 whys)
  • Able to use measuring instruments: calipers, micrometers, ruler/scale, magnifier
  • Able to produce reports on investigations using provided templates for Quality 
  • Safety Requirements:
  • Maintain First Aid / CPR / AED certification by reporting status to Coordinator
  • Assist with Environmental and ISO compliance as directed
  • Assist Human Resources with Workers’ Compensation claims and cases as necessary
  • Maintain operational compliance to DOT hazmat requirements as instructed by Coordinator

 

Language Skills

Ability to read, analyze and interpret internal/technical reports and data, and communicate to others. Able to write reports with data collected during investigations using supplied templates.

 

Mathematical Skills

Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.

 

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

Regularly required to sit, stand, and walk. Specific vision abilities include close vision, color vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.

 

WORK ENVIRONMENT

Traditional office/warehouse environments with variations to temperature related to the seasons, with typical warehouse heating and cooling. The work environment includes noise related to a logistics equipment, fork truck traffic, tool operation, and related activities. Domestic and international travel may be required, <10% annually.
