Inventory Specialist

purpose

Maintain inventory accuracy for specific parts and areas of the company on a daily basis by performing the following essential duties.

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Perform requested and routine cycle counts accurately by taking all variables into account.

Analyze cycle count results for root cause and participate in finding solutions to eliminate root causes.

Assist with the preparation, execution, and evaluation of the annual physical inventory.

Review inventory reconciliation report and research root causes for discrepancies. Make necessary corrections to inventory accordingly.

Support Shipping with Hold orders on a daily basis to satisfy our customers.

Assist Receiving and Purchasing with GR/IR research.

Assist Quality and Operations Support Specialist in research and resolution to IQR's

Maintain locations in the warehouse.

Uses computer programs SAP and Trakland

Must be able to establish and maintain effective communication with other departments. This is a highly visible position that requires a great deal of cooperation and understanding between departments in order to increase inventory accuracy through consistent and accurate processes.

Supervision Received

Daily priorities are established by a supervisor but the employee is expected to evaluate and respond to new situations which require immediate attention. Work is frequently checked while in progress and end results are reviewed.

 

Supervision Exercised

No supervision is exercised.

 

QUALIFICATIONS

 

Education

High school diploma or general education degree (GED) or equivalent combination of education and experience.

 

Experience

One to two years of related experience is required.

 

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

Word and Excel knowledge preferred.

Forklift experience required.

 

Language Skills

Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of the organization.

 

Mathematical Skills

Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.

 

Reasoning Ability

Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

 

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear. The employee is frequently required to stand, walk, sit, use hands, climb, balance, stoop, crawl, kneel and crouch. The employee must be able to lift and /or move up to 50 punds. Specific vision abilities required for this job include close vision, distance vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus. These physical requirements are used in counting and handling parts and using a personal computer.

 

WORK ENVIRONMENT

The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
