Logistics Manager

The Logistics Manager is responsible for overseeing warehouse operations, facility management, and inventory control at Kärcher Municipal North America's Embrun, ON location. This role ensures the timely and accurate shipping of whole goods (tractors, sweepers), attachments, and spare parts while maintaining inventory accuracy, vendor management, and a well-organized facility. The Logistics Manager will lead a team consisting of Parts Associates and Shipper/Receiver staff, ensuring a high level of efficiency, organization, and compliance with company standards.

This role requires strong leadership, organizational skills, and hands-on problem-solving abilities to optimize logistics operations while maintaining a clean, safe, and functional facility.

 

This is how you WOW:

1. Warehouse & Shipping Operations

  • Ensure timely and accurate shipment of whole goods, attachments, and spare parts to customers and dealers.
  • Oversee the order fulfillment process, including picking, packing, and preparing shipping documentation.
  • Work closely with logistics providers to optimize shipping methods, costs, and delivery timelines.
  • Ensure proper handling, loading, and unloading of equipment and materials to prevent damage.
  • Implement standard operating procedures (SOPs) for warehouse operations to improve efficiency.

 

2. Inventory Management & Control

  • Maintain minimum and maximum inventory levels for whole goods, attachments, and spare parts to ensure availability while reducing excess stock.
  • Oversee inventory accuracy through regular cycle counts and annual physical inventories.
  • Implement and maintain best practices for inventory storage, organization, and control.
  • Ensure proper documentation and tracking of inventory movement within the ERP system (SAP Business One).

3. Vendor & Purchase Order Management

  • Place and track purchase orders with vendors to maintain proper stock levels.
  • Monitor lead times, pricing, and supplier performance, working with vendors to resolve any issues.
  • Work closely with sales, service, and finance teams to align purchasing and inventory needs with demand.

4. Facility Management & Organization

  • Oversee the cleanliness, organization, and maintenance of the warehouse and facility to ensure a safe and efficient work environment.
  • Coordinate building repairs, equipment maintenance, and facility improvements as needed.
  • Ensure that all safety and compliance protocols are followed to meet company and regulatory standards.

5. Leadership & Team Management

  • Lead, mentor, and support the Parts Associates and Shipper/Receiver staff to ensure productivity and teamwork.
  • Train employees on best practices, warehouse procedures, and safety regulations.
  • Set clear performance expectations, conduct regular check-ins, and provide feedback to the team.
  • Ensure staffing levels are appropriate to meet operational demands.

 

It would be WOW if you would bring this in:

 

  • 5+ years of experience in logistics, warehouse management, or supply chain operations (preferably in a manufacturing or distribution environment).
  • Experience managing a warehouse team, including shipping/receiving and inventory control.
  • Strong understanding of inventory management principles, including min/max levels and cycle counting.
  • Proficiency in ERP systems (SAP Business One preferred) and inventory tracking software.
  • Experience in vendor management, purchase orders, and supply chain coordination.
  • Hands-on problem-solving skills with the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Knowledge of logistics best practices, shipping regulations, and safety protocols.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to lift 50 lbs., move, and handle equipment as needed in a warehouse environment.
  • Ability to drive equipment: forklift, articulating tractor, scrubber, and sweeper
