Shop Service Technician with value add / Blackwood, NJ



Is responsible for operating warehouse equipment and the use of machinery as well as maintaining production/value add material in the warehouse; preparing these items for distribution. The job involves assembling and checking product parts, ensuring that all machinery runs smoothly, and assisting in the shipment of items. A production worker cleans and operates production area equipment, puts together and inspects products, and adheres to all distribution center safety guidelines and standards.



Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Uses power tools to solder, weld, drill, and attach parts

Makes sure that workstation and equipment are clean and free of hazardous materials

 Addresses problems with production equipment and machinery and fixes them as needed
 Assembles product parts by hand
 Inspects assembled products to ensure they are up to quality standards
  Affixes labels, company logos, and other exterior details to products
 Packs up completed products and prepares them for shipment
 Keeps work area floor clean
 Unloads, organizes, and stocks shipments
 Adheres to all safety guidelines dictation the production and handling of materials in the warehouse
 Ensures that all production deadlines are met
 Reports issues or problems with production to immediate supervisor






High school diploma or GED is required



Three to Five years of related experience is required. Production and Warehouse experience preferred including experience with cross-functional teams.





Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

Demonstrates ability to interpret equipment gauges and monitors on factory equipment.

Possesses knowledge of the structure and function of production equipment.

Is able to identify problems or malfunctions with machinery and equipment.
Demonstrates analytical thinking and problem-solving skills necessary to troubleshoot production issues.
Exhibits ability to work cautiously but efficiently in potentially hazardous conditions.

Is familiar with all factory safety procedures and guidelines.

Demonstrates ability to use power tools safely and effectively. Works efficiently and manages time effectively.

Possesses strong SAP knowledge with the ability to run and create reports on the status of open work and pending Value-Add orders.

Possesses knowledge of the Trakland WMS system with the ability to build kits for the Value-Add department.

Possesses physical strength and stamina required to stand, walk, and lift for long periods of time.

Possesses physical dexterity necessary to assemble small and delicate product parts

Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio and percent. Ability to accurately read a tape measure.

Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions in written, oral, or diagram form Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations




Able to lift 40 pounds.

Able to perform tasks that include lifting, standing, and bending for up to 10 hours daily.




Standard 40-hour workweek applies
Working hours will be spent in the warehouse environment
Moderate to heavy physical activity such as walking and lifting is required on a daily basis

Safety gear, such as goggles, gloves, and ear muffs should be worn on a regular basis
