Material Handler 2-C
SUMMARY:
Load, unload and move material to contribute in the flow of materials through the fabrication facility. Verifies and keeps records on incoming and outgoing shipments, prepares items for shipment, provides inventory control and cycle counting by performing the following duties.
DUTIES: may include but are not limited to:

Load, unload, move, stock, pull, and label raw or finished materials

Prepare materials for shipment
-
Maintains inventory of shipping materials and supplies
-
Affixes shipping labels on packed cartons identifying shipping information on cartons; posts weights and shipping charges
-
Performs inventory control and cycle counting functions
-
Perform required computer transactions
-
Compares identifying information and counts, weighs, or measures items of incoming and outgoing shipments to verify information against bills of lading, invoices, orders, or other records.

Other duties as assigned
QUALIFICATIONS:
-
Education and/or Experience – High school diploma or general education degree (GED) and / or six months or more related experience or training.

Physical Demands – Regularly requires standing, walking, and climbing. Must be able to lift and/or move 100 lbs.
WORK ENVIRONMENT:

Distribution Center/Warehouse environment

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally exposed to wet and/or humid conditions; moving mechanical parts; high, precarious places; outside weather conditions; extreme cold; extreme heat; and vibration.

The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.

Standard 40-hour workweek applies; Overtime and weekend hours could be possible

Moderate to heavy physical activity such as walking and lifting is required on a daily basis
NECESSARY COMPETENCE:
Demonstrated through daily performance and reviewed no less than once annually during performance review.

Speak and write clearly in English; able to interpret written and verbal information

Demonstrate accuracy and thoroughness

Ability to add and / or subtract multiple digit numbers

Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form
