Purpose

 

The Sr Cost Analyst will share ownership of all aspects of operations expense reporting, business analytics and business support. 

This position is responsible for providing a high level of cost analysis support to operations management and employees throughout the company. The position requires an individual who is knowledgeable about manufacturing and logistics costs and is well-versed in the use of financial analysis tools and techniques.

The Sr Cost Analyst reports directly to the Plant Controller/Sr Manager, Finance Operations with advisory responsibility to the Operations team. This position will work directly with finance and accounting professionals as well as partner with business leaders.

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Coordinate and consolidate financial information from multiple data sources to produce expense/inventory reports
  • Lead the preparation of analytics that are included in the monthly reporting package.
  • Schedule reconciliations of WMS (warehouse management systems) to SAP.
  • Various freight analyses and reporting.
  • Assist the Finance Operations team on any analysis necessary to setup and roll costs for purchased and manufactured items on a yearly basis.
  • Support in planning and conduct physical inventories.
  • Analyze the reporting data to understand business changes and variances for providing management with observations and suggestions for cost reductions.
  • Complete an in-depth examination of financial results to understand trends, align strategy, and drive business transformation. 
  • Assist external auditors as needed.
  • Assist with the implementation of process improvements for streamlining procedures, standardizes and improves efficiency of process. 
  • Assist management with special projects and other duties as assigned.

 

Qualifications:  

This individual must be able to work independently as well as part of a team, prioritize responsibilities, meet deadlines, communicate well with their supervisor/team and multi-task effectively.

 

Education 

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance

 

Experience

5 to 10 years of experience in accounting.

Cost accounting, manufacturing and SAP experience required.

CPA, CMA or CGMA preferred

 

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Must be highly proficient with MS Excel.
  • Must be able to communicate effectively in English, verbally and in writing.
  • Must have good critical thinking skills.
  • Must be able to work independently.
  • Must be able to work through detailed analysis but also quickly recognize reasonableness of results.
  • Must be able to resolve costing issues by utilizing system resources.
  • Must work well collaboratively with team and other departments.
  • Disciplined work ethic and the capability to handle multiple projects.
  • Demonstrates a high level of people orientation and respect towards others.

Base Salary

$75,000- $100,000 per year 

 

Bonus 

Kärcher Incentive Plan- 10%
