Quality Technician II (2nd Shift)

Quality Technician II - Aurora, Colorado (2nd Shift)

 

 

Purpose

Tests and inspects products at various stages of production process including vendor products. Compiles data and evaluates statistical data to determine and maintain quality and reliability of products. Leads Quality investigations and works with Production staff on quality issue corrections and improvements.

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Measure and perform dimensional checks
  • Perform defined inspection, audit, and test protocols
  •  Collect complete and accurate data and write reports
  • Perform and/or direct root cause as instructed
  • Test, clean, repair and repack returned equipment
  • Work with multiple departments on Quality issues
  • Record and enter data
  • Update metrics
  • Read, understand, and maintain compliance to SOP’s
  • Write and revise SOP’s as directed
  • Perform inventory transactions and movements as required in SAP
  • Operate pallet jack, dolly, or forklift as trained and required
  • Other duties as assigned
  • Maintain work areas and participate in safety, quality, and performance initiatives
  • Perform data analysis, trending and reporting as required
  • Collect and report on basic quality data such as trend charts
  • Processing all rework
  • Help implement ISO procedures
  • Help maintain calibration of all measuring and testing equipment

QUALIFICATIONS

 

Education

High school diploma or general education degree (GED) required. Some engineering or technical education preferred.

 

Experience

 2 to 4 year  related Quality experience.

 

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Demonstrate accuracy and thoroughness.   
  • Understand and interpret prints, wiring diagrams and work instructions.
  • A basic understanding of ISO 9001 standard.
  • Demonstrated ability to use Microsoft Office tools including Word and Excel
  • Able to perform basic transactions in SAP
  • Able to use hand tools, pneumatic tools etc.
  • Able to use measuring equipment, (calipers, micrometers, various gauges, etc.) and perform tolerance stacking analysis
  • Understand quality metrics
  • Comply with all company policies
  • Electric and mechanical aptitude
  • Technical inspection skills, able to inspect products and identify technical and mechanical issues as well as quality issues

 

Language Skills

Ability to read, speak, and write clearly in English, analyze, and interpret common scientific and technical journals and data.  Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from managers, clients or customers.

 

Mathematical Skills

Ability to add and / or subtract multiple digit numbers, understand and interpret decimals, understand and read angles. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.

 

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

Regularly required to stand, walk, and climb warehouse ladders.  Must be able to lift and/or move 50 lbs. with assistance. Specific vision abilities include close vision, color vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.

 

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

Manufacturing / Assembly / Fabrication / Warehouse environments with variations to temperature related to the seasons, with typical warehouse heating and cooling. The work environment includes noise related to manufacturing equipment, fork truck traffic, tool operation, and related activities.

Base Salary

$21/hr - $25/hr
