Engineer III

The salary range for this position is $ 80,000 - 95,000

 

This position requires full competence in work varied in nature and complexity that encompasses planning, evaluating, designing, developing and adapting tools, machines, mechanically functioning equipment, and mechanical industrial processes for the purpose of increasing productivity, enhancing quality and reducing manufacturing costs by having optimum use of workers, machines, materials, and facilities.

 

This is how you WOW:

  • Makes mathematical/mechanical computations and independent analyses applying scientific and engineering principles and practices as required.
  • Initiates appropriation requests (PAR’s) for major projects.
  • In conjunction with accounting, prepares PAR post-completion audits.
  • Establishes systems for control of project progress, time schedules, and costs.
  • Establishes engineering and equipment standards for efficient application of resources and maintains records and files.
  • Directly responsible for the engineering and related functions of assigned manufacturing operations that include:
    • The setup and maintenance of labor standards
    • Analyses of methods, processes, and procedures and work simplification techniques
    • Design and subcontracting of tools, fixtures, and gauging
    • Control of NC/CNC functions that include tapes, setup sheets, and DNC systems and all other interacting projects as well as the training of operators and others
    • Preparation and maintenance of the Billing of Materials and Time and Work Reporting
    • Analyzes and processes engineering change requests
    • Plant, machinery, equipment, and assembly layouts
    • Troubleshoots technically challenging problems that involve machinery, equipment, and/or processes
    • Evaluates methods for improving labor and manufacturing costs, variances, and margins
  • Initiates cost reduction proposals as well as investigates proposals from other sources
  • Compiles appropriate information for a given situation or problem, makes recommendations for action, implements when appropriate, and follows up on results obtained.
  • Directs and/or oversees cost reduction proposals and product/process improvement projects as assigned.
  • Renders technical service to all other departments as requested or as assigned.
  • Handles special assignments such as directing production planning, providing technical support, and processing/quoting new products and/or prototypes.

  • Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering or related science or equivalent combination of education and directly related experience.
